Gloria Polo is a Colombian woman who in 1995 was struck by lightning. This painful experience opened the doors for her to the mystical encounter with God in the afterlife, where she experienced a foretaste of the particular judgment that awaits all of us human beings. At the end of her journey in the afterlife, Jesus said to her: "What you have seen and heard, you will not repeat a thousand times, but a thousand times a thousand; and woe to those who, upon hearing you, do not change, for they will be judged with greater severity, as you too will be in your second return — My anointed ones (the priests) or anyone else — for there is no greater deaf person than one who does not wish to hear, nor a worse blind person than one who does not wish to see."

Whoever visits Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament daily, in fact, will never be confused, because Jesus Himself will imprint in them love and gratitude for the Holy Mother Catholic Church. I love you in the love of Christ Jesus."

Since 1995, Gloria Polo has fulfilled the mission entrusted to her by Jesus to recount "a thousand times a thousand" her otherworldly experience. She has done so exclusively in oral form. Therefore, she has never written down her testimony in her own hand. However, she entrusted Flaviano Patrizi, as a Catholic theologian, with the task of drafting it, drawing from the original recordings of the many oral testimonies she has given. Gloria limited herself to supervising the drafting and integrating unpublished narratives not present in her oral testimonies. The first edition in the Italian language of I have been to the Gates of Heaven and Hell. New Testimony of Dr. Gloria Polo, published in 2011 exclusively by Himmel Association, did not include the aforementioned integrations because an infernal enemy succeeded in preventing it: while Gloria was finishing writing on her laptop the draft of the unpublished integrations to be delivered to Flaviano Patrizi, the laptop was snatched from her by an invisible force, which hurled it against the wall, shattering it and rendering the hard drive data irrecoverable.

Ten years after the publication of the first Italian edition, Gloria's unpublished integrations have been included in the second Italian edition of I have been to the Gates of Heaven and Hell. New Testimony of Dr. Gloria Polo and in its English translation. For this second edition, Flaviano Patrizi completely rewrote the testimony, so that the literary form adopted would reflect the degree of maturity of faith reached by Gloria in her twenty-six years of mission (as of 2021); he inserted the extensive, totally unpublished integrations mentioned above, which Gloria, over the years, had gradually communicated to him; he added many unpublished details to the narratives already present in the first edition; and he provided the text with biblical references and notes.

The books distributed throughout the world and in various languages that bear the name of Gloria Polo as author are not books written by Gloria, but are simply transcriptions or translations, complete or partial, of a simple oral testimony. Since Gloria's oral testimonies have always been limited by the time available to her for speaking and by the audience to which she addresses herself, these books are incomplete both in the number of total experiences narrated and in the details of each individual experience.

Nearly all the publishing houses, associations, and private individuals who publish in the English language the testimony of Gloria Polo —using in certain cases even the title of the book distributed exclusively by Himmel Associazione— are distributing the translation of the testimony given by Gloria Polo in the Spanish language in Caracas (Venezuela) on May 5, 2005. This version and its various reworkings were not supervised by Gloria; they contain translation errors and heterodox interpolations that distort Gloria's thought. The inaccurate presentation of the narrated experiences, moreover, not only fails to allow one to grasp the importance of the testimony, but leads some to misunderstand it and devalue it.

For this reason, it is of fundamental importance, so that Gloria's experience may continue to bear fruit, to read and make known the testimony supervised by Gloria published exclusively by Himmel Edizioni, to deepen one's understanding of the book by Flaviano Patrizi Illusion or Reality. The responsibility for these errors, therefore, should not be imputed to Gloria, who does not know the Italian language, but to those who committed them and to those who continue to disseminate them by distributing the incorrect text, despite our earnest appeals.
